Default 25 gal tank on 2500?

Did Dodge ever make a 2500 with a small fuel tank? I have a 03 2500 which I purchased about a month ago which either has a problem with the fuel gauge or a small gas tank. My fuel light consistently turns on and the gauge says I am on E after about 25 gal.

My owners manual says I should have a 35 gal tank so I am wondering if it is just the gauge or if for some reason I really do have a small tank on my truck. I emailed Dodge to see how my truck was set up from the factory but have not received anything back yet.

Any help is appreciated because I don’t want to just keep driving and hope that I have the 35 gal tank lol.

Ok, cool.

Anyone know what size tank came on the 6.5?

Everything I can find is like this :
http://www.new-cars.com/2003/dodge/d...500-specs.html
and says I should have a larger tank than a 26.

And with my gas mileage I sure hope it is a 35 lol.

Only way to know for sure is to get a spec sheet from Dodge by using the VIN to see exactly what came with the truck. However, I am sure 26s came on 2500s. My 35 however came off a 2500

Heard back from dodge and I have a NFUS 34 Gallon Fuel Tank so that means my gauges are doing something funky. It is both my dash mounted gauge as well as my overhead computer. Anyone ever heard of this problem?

Never heard of the problem but if both are affected my guess would be it's a pcm issue, which means the stealership is gonna have to take a look at her.
