Question 03 ram starting trouble

I did a thread search and found similar posts but they were a but different so maybe you guys can answer or fill me in on what's up!!

2003 ram 1500 5.7 hemi 96,500 miles 2wd

Never had trouble starting, this morning, it's about 53 degrees out, and my truck is under a car port. So it's not in direct cold. Turn kEy and it took a few extra cranks than it usually does to start, but it starts then dies. Then I turned the key again and the starter just cranked, engine didn't catch. Tried again and starter was cranking, I pushed the gas pedal and it started but was very rough, and after a minute ran ok. Then it ran fine to work, and I parked and stopped the engine, and tried restarting it and it started fine.
So what happened this morning? Two days ago and the past years it always fired up and never had starting problems.
Is it needing a tune up soon? This is really the first trouble I've had so if you had similar troubles let's hear it!!

Have you cleaned your throttle body yet? Also, how long has it been since you changed your plugs. It may be time to do a good once over tune up and see how that works for you. You may also make sure your battery is fully charged.

If its turning over but not catching, its either a fuel or spark problem. My guess is spark plugs, but possibly clogged injectors as well. do an overall tune up. Change out the sparkplugs, clean the throttle body, poor some injector cleaner in the gas tank next fill up, and you should be ok.

A good number thrown around here is 30,000 miles for plugs. So I would say while you're doing that every 30,000 just check up on everything else.

Will do cowboy! I'll get ya an update when I can check these
plugs out. I think I'm going to look for the champion copper plugs, I hear those are the best unless you think there is a better plug. Also what's this I hear about turning ur car on off on off and you get a display? I never heard about this
