Looks like the OP learned the hard way... never take your truck to any sort of quick lube place, or Walmart, for oil changes. There is a reason they are building new Walmarts without the auto garages now. They are losing way to much money on their guys not remembering simple things, like lug nuts and oil filters, and then getting sued. Quick lube type places are almost as bad, trying to use wrong filters, not changing the oil and saying they did, not changing the filter and saying they did, etc. etc.

If you ever do go against my advice and take the truck to a quick lube type place, or a Walmart, take a large black (or whichever color you prefer) marker and make several long marks on your filter in several places. After they claim they are done changing the oil/filter, check the filter. If its got the marks, then you know its not been touched, and you need to speak to their manager.

I've even seen the people at Walmart use an air tool to screw the drain plug back in. Talk about laziness and stupidity.
your 100% correct. they know they do a sh*tty job too! my GTI had a factory aluminum oil pan, and it started leaking. +=... i took it to one of those Texaco quick lube places, got them to change my oil, then later that day cam back and "complained" about the leak. they gave me a new oil pan haha.

When i shifted to RP, i noticed the engine seemed to run much smoother. Worth every penny IMO.

I use RP in the Tranny, difs and T case. I was using it in the Hemi but recently switched to Amsoil just to give it a try. RP is great stuff no doubt.

Dont think it will give any better MPG's but it sure makes the engine run alot smoother. And yea i did learn that i will never take it to a quick lube again even if i have no time.

Yeah, I get you guys. But, it does run smoother, though. I wasn't really expecting a mpg increase, just curious as to whether any of the claims could be substantiated. Now, about that K n N air filter...

I've had a couple hundred thousand of good results with Amsoil.
