Default question about exhaust cut outs

I was thinking about installing exhaust cut outs but would there be any benefits for me? I already run dual exhaust with just cats no mufflers with 2 1/2 inch pipe to 4 inch tips.

if you're already running straight pipes you wont really see any gains... except maybe a little different sound
spend the money getting rid of your chrome

I dont think you would notice the sound difference since it would be the same setup just dumped instead of going all the way back.. UNLESS you put them on before the cats, but you would throw a CEL. There was another member who just recently had a thread on this but I cant find it. He put his cut outs on before the cats.

Well i just saw an old post about installing eliminater for the O2 sensors

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...ving-cats.html

Would i have an issue still if i put the exhaust cut outs before the cats? Because now the PCM would think the cats are there all the time.

i plan on putting my cut out before my cat, and for less then 5bucks you can use the non fouler trick. i completly gutted the cat on my durango and used the non fouler trick with no problems and no cel.

As said before, i dont think you will notice a lot of difference. Im sure it will be a little more loud because the cutout would be upstream the pipe more than the end of the pipe but with no mufflers and you wanting it louder you might as well just take it loose from the manifolds or headers. LOL
