teaser pics, as promised. also, having a drain plug in the tranny pan made dropping it WAAAAY easier. a small mod i highly suggest if you dont have the dough for a new pan.

Wow, that much of a difference in only a 100 stall increase from stock? I understand its the race 'verter but still... I was looking at doing a 2700 stall. Maybe i'll go lower since its not a race truck, just a really big fast street truck

Froggy....you need one. I hear it calling your name. Its like $500 for the TC and about 3 hrs labor time if that. Supposedly easier than doing the clutch in a manual tranny if you've ever done one of those. I better not beat you to this mod saying as I'm putting in a cam before the TC...

the reason i didnt go crazy with the stall speed is because i tow a lot. and the stall alone of the edge racing verter isnt what gives you the gains, its the fact that it is more efficient. its going to free up some of the parasitic loss no matter what the stall.

Andre over at edge took into consideration all of the mods i have now, future plans, and how i use the truck and then made a recommendation on a stall speed for me. That guy really knows his stuff.

Frog, if truckin doesnt get that viper fan from you, id like to grab it.

Can't wait to see the full write up about the install and how you like the performance once you get a chance to put your foot in it.

the install probably would have only taken 2 hours if i didnt drop the pan for a service or install the HD2. It would have been super easy to just separate the tranny from the engine, slide off the old verter, slide the new one on, and bolt it back up. the bulk of the 5.5 hours of this project went to the HD2 and getting all the old rtv off the pan.

also, it would save a lot of time if you fill the verter up with fluid before you start the install. it took about 45 min just to get 4 qts of fluid in that thing before it went in.

Also start when the truck is cold... We started mine after a 20min drive to get to the shop, needless to say the thing was hot as hell for a very very long time.
