So I have a 2002 1/2ton,4x4 quad cab with a 2in leveling kit, I ahve hade the kit in for some time but in the last 3 months I have noticed a vibration. I thought it was tire balance(not) tires(just replaced) U joints(new) ok I check the front cv shafts pass side good(no play) butthe drivers side on the diff case side I can push/pull where the shaft goes into the housing 3/16 of an inch. I'm looking for a expolded view of the front IFS system.I am planing on removing the front shaft but wondering if any one else has this play in there drivers side shaft.Thanks Guys.

 

Same amount of play on my 03. I have read on numerous occasions that the stub shafts coming out of your front diff can strip as well. Something to look for when removing your half shafts.
