Default wondering if i have a SHOCK problem

i own a 2006 dodge ram 4x4. i had to run off the road to keep from hitting a car that pulled out in front of me and i hit a couple of pretty deep pot holes at a high speed. afterwards i just so happen to look a day or two later and my shock has a oily residue all over it.... does this mean i busted my shock?

Default That might be the case

I noticed oil on the ground a week after buying my 07 1500. Took it in for warranty work and they replaced both front struts. Because the were leaking oil. 06-08 rams with the IFS have this problem as well as tie rods. I have to do mine as soon as it warms up. I would go with aftermarket struts from bilstein or ranchero they are reasonably priced and a way better strut. Mine are new and they still suck. Asap they are getting replanced. Good luck
