a guy in town is wanting to sell his superchip 3815 and he says it the same as the 3865 but i dont know i went to the superchip web site but can find the 3815 is it a older model or what the guy is it works on the hemi just wondering if its the same i will get it for $75 bucks ... my truck is completely stock and didnt plan on changing that but $75 is a good price i think for a tuner

yeah, the 3815 is the older one so it wont support some of the new tunes SC is coming out with such as trans adjustments. BUT i dont think the trans adjustments work with the 04 anyway. $75 is a good deal if it is unlocked (meaning he returned his truck back to stock with it) i would buy it (if its unlocked) and if you dont like it you could resell it...

 

What engine do you have? So far, the program is the same but the difference is the 3815 will not be getting the new trans updates and other goodies from Superchips anymore. The 3865 is the newer model of the 3815 and is the model Superchips is focusing it's time on. The 3865 is also quite a bit smaller and from what I've heard, a little better with processing because of the improved memory.
It's considered outdated for your model truck and you can get the new 3865 brand new for just under $300 shipped to your door.

The 3815 is still a good tuner, I'm running it for now, but for $75 for a vin unlocked tuner I'd for sure buy it. Worst case, sell it for $200 here and put it towards the new 3865.

SC3815 is the old model and doesn't have the memory required to support the newest upgrades your 04 would benefit from the trans management now being offered. For $75 it's a good deal if unlocked.
