Horrible Suspension noises
Over the weekend my truck has developed a horrible groaning/squeaking/creaking whenever the weight shifts or I hit a bump.
It's only up front, but it sounds like the noise a really old desk chair makes when you lean back. It almost sounds like the noise a bad power steering pump makes but I know it's not PS because it does it when the truck is off and I bounce the front end.
It developed rather quickly...I noticed it a LITTLE on Saturday morning, then by Saturday afternoon it was pretty annoying, but by last night it was REALLY loud and really annoying.
The ride is unaffected. It doesn't bounce excessively. Lately it has started pulling a bit to the right though.

Jack up the front end and grab a tire. Start pulling, pushing, shaking etc, and watch for movement in any of the joints in the front end. Could be anything from sway bar links, to ball joints. How many miles you have?
could be a few things. i agree with hoss that it could be a ball joint.
i also know ive had to replace the passenger side strut twice because it was making a creaking noise. (2nd one lasted 1000 miles, fancy that) i know that on an 04 you still have the torison bar set up with shocks but may be a similar problem.
you might figure out which side its on and have that shock tested. if its both sides i dont know what to tell you.

If it has suddenly started and developed a pull it could be something caught in the brake on the side that it pulls to. Ball joints are always suspects but they usually give some small indication before they become obvious. Jack the tire off the ground about three inches and stick a bar under the tire and lift the bar. This should give you the mechanical leverage to move a bad ball joint.
although you could also soak everything with a good penetrating oil (rubber bushings, ect) and see if it goes away. It will come back eventually but that will at least let you know if it is mechanical or physical

yea, when my lower ball joint went bad it started out with a small squeak, i thought it was a bushing or something, then it got worse and worse and worse to a point i could hear the squeak noise with the windows up, it squeaked over bumpers, and turning the wheel while driving and when my truck was sitting there it would squeak... and also when my big a$$ got out of the truck it squeaked hahaha..... hope that info helps
