Help me spend my $$$$$
My Pacesetters are doing great.
Just be sure that if you are in a state that does inspections that you either have a shop that will "look the other direction" or you go with shorties/mids that wont affect your cat location.
If gears are out, headers and a ported TB would be next on my list.

I am not sure about the inspection thing with headers, I will have to check. I think I would be ok as long as I keep the cats.
So it looks like the suggestions are:
1- 4.56 gears and DTT for the rear
2-Headers and ported TB
Any other suggestions?

Basically if it moves the location of the headers its illegal, if you are in a state that does full inspections you wont pass, if you are in a state that just plugs int the OBDII port and checks for codes you are good to go.
As for the other mods, it really sounds like you have already done the basics except for a CAI, which in all honesty if you are planning to go any further with the performance mods you really need to pick one up or build one. With the headers and ported TB you would need one as you are going to be moving alot more air in and out (or trying to), if you ever decide to throw a cam in it (big or small) you are going to need one for the same reasons. So IMO you need to add that mod in the mix as well as more of a supporting mod.
(By itself dont expect much of a gain, maybe just a little more throttle responce and it'll make it a little louder BUT as you get into bigger and better mods you'll be seeing bigger gains out of it.)
Along with the CAI though you could pick yourself up a mild - semi agresive cam too, as long as it will run on a canned tune. Other than that though for a grand thats about it after all is said and done.

yeah, gears would costs too much and i dunno if i'd trust your budddy unless he's done many sets of gears before???
E-fan mod. That's what Taurus fan is ised for. it gets rid of the stock clutch fan that robbs HP and tq. Supposedly the E-fan adds 14rwhp/11rwtq from what I've seen on the internet for dyno slips.
I've got a brand new unit if your interested. Most guys go to junkyards and pay $50 for the 15yr old 100+kmi used one's.
You'll need a temp probe sensor with minor wiring to go with.

I have everything I need for the Efan install, I was just answering someone else that asked what a taurus efan was.
As for gears, I have done it before, and so has my buddy. I did them in my 79 chevy k20, it has 4.88s in it and I installed a detroit locker in the rear and ARB in the front. I don't drive it much anymore because I cannot afford 5mpg, 468 cid bb with holley dominator sucks gas but is fun
. I just don't have the tools, that is what my buddy and his garage with 15ton lift is for.
Options so far:
1- gears and DTT ($?)
2- TB and headers
3- CAI and cam
anything else? I have some time to think, I am waiting for spring to to the work.

contrary to what you might think, my mpgs went up after instaling the 4.56's. Unlike your other trucks with the overdrive in our rams with the rear at 4.56 it puts the over all gear ratio at around 3.73 or close to it. I'll bet my truck on it that you wont drop that much MPG to be noticeable if any at all
My old chevy gets bad mileage because of a few things, big block with big carb, 4.88 gears, 37" MTs, no overdrive trans, and aerodynamics of a brick.
Thanks.
