I have 315/75R17 BFG A/T's on mine. Haven't noticed much of a difference in on road performance. Doesn't get wheeled too often... a little large for tight trails. I believe I have 3.73 gears, I can check tomorrow at work.

I Had 35's on my truck with 3.73's and wow it was a dog needed to rev the **** out of it to move anywhere and wouldn't even be able to hold over drive towing a little trailer or driving in a strong wind. Threw some 4.56's in it now I can tow a 28 foot trailer with ease and actually light those big meats up.

well I am running 4:10s but that is from the factory. I have the 315 allterrain bfg's and either need more power or 4:56 gears. I am thinkng gears myself. Oh, normally the power is found under your right foot! Its the skinny black pedal.

I Have 3.73's and the 315/70/17 BFG All Terrains and my truck runs well. I havent had many problems or complains about it dropping a lot of power. Towing I obviously never see 6th gear too much other than downhill. But overall I like them. Although, believe it or not your wheels have a lot to do with it as well. I had the stock 2500 steel wheels on my truck- just recently got the factory polished aluminum wheels and it makes quite a difference. They are night and day difference in weight.

As for off road, I dont have one complaint about them. I've had my ram through some mucky stuff too. They run real well in the snow as well- I love them. This all depends on the brand of tire you get as well.

Hope this helps.
