Default Replacement Seat Compatibility 2005 Ram 1500

I have been wrestling with the seat foam deterioration issue that a lot of people have experienced. I tried to add foam and repair the seats but I have had so much breakdown that its looking like new foam is in order. However, since the existing seat fabric is pretty worn I am thinking of replacing foam and fabric. With all of that together, I am looking at $400-500.

I did some looking and found a complete set of seats for about $675. Issue is that they are from a 2009.

Does anyone know what the range of compatibility is for these model years? Will the 2009 seats fit in the 2005?

Any resources or assistance would be helpful.

I believe the 09's have different mounting brackets than the 02-08's but I'm not 100% positive.

Where are you located? I'm guessing by your sig your in W. Va.

I changed seats when I first bought my truck. Bought a Laramie leather package off of eBay. By far I think this is the way to go. No way would I even consider reupholstering a seat with the availablility of seats being offered. As for your question I would stick with 02-08 for donor.
Good luck...

Not West Virginia, out here in Virginia Beach VA.

I will keep looking for an 07-08 set in good shape.

salvage yards and ebay. I would go the salvage yard way though, no shipping unless you can find something close on ebay.
