Default need some direction

ok guys, i have a 02 4.7 liter and it is running really rough.. bogging down when i slow down and such. it started about 2 weeks ago, and then 2 nights ago cel came on. ran it and it was p0031.. 02 sensor. im not sure if that has anything to do with my problem though. does it?
and i have changed the plugs about 20000 miles ago, and i went to go and clean the tb, but its nothing like the hemis for some reason.. i have a spring on the left hand side for the throttle cable, and it is conected to the body and there is no way to get them apart.. am i missing something? i have k&n cai and i disconnected it off the throttle body, removed the iat and the other sensor, made sure there was nothing in it. but cant remove the tb to clean it..

im also wondering if it could be egr valve? just looking for what you guys think. thanks

if your 02 sensor is screwed it can send false signals to the pcm makin the motor run funky.

If your o2 is bad, it can make your truck run lean or rich. I would start there. If the computer told you the o2 is bad, it's telling you that for a reason. I would fix that first and do the TB as a maintenance item.

I just took my TB off on my 4.7 Monday while changing my plugs to clean it. pull the throttle open to get some slack in the cable, and pull the cable toward you to get the cable to slide out to the left, there is a little notch for it to go thru. Then for the cruise control cable, you can just slide it off, it will seem hard to get off but it will slide off, it will rotate on the piece it sits on, I did it by rotating it so the cable is straight up and down and just pushed it down until it came off. Then take the plug with the red clip off, shouldn't be hard. Then undo the hose which I think is a vacuum hose. Next take 3 bolts out, turn TB up and it will give you better access to get the other plug out above the one with the red clip.

Hope that helps
