Default E-Fan tech details needed

So I'm in the process of doing the efan upgrade. While at the junkyard, I came across a couple other cars that seemed that they would be good candidates also.

so my question is, what is the required CFM to ensure proper cooling.

I found the following:

2001 Dodge Intrepid (dual fan with better 'covering' shroud than the taurus
1998 Mercury Sable -- pretty much the same as the taurus
2006 Ford Crown Vic cop car with HO 4.6L (single fan - 3700 CFM is what I've read so far, but I know cop cars have higher capacity cooling systems to allow for all the idle time, so I am not sure if that is cop car rating, or mustang 4.6L rating I found)
And then of course, the 1997 Ford Taurus...

I'm trying to track down the CFM ratings for the intrepid and the sable still...I'm not finding a lot so far though. I'm sure it's out there though.

Thanks.

I don't know if anyone has done one on the 5.9, but if either of the one's from the sable or taurus look like this http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...cfan/index.php take them.

I cant tell you the CFM on the Taurus fan but I can tell you it even the low speed side does put out more air than the stock fan. Ive got one on mine and it does great.

low setting on the taurus fan is about 300 cfm less than the stock fan. high side is almost 1000 more cfm than stock.

either the sable or taurus would be fine. You really need a 2 speed fan, otherwise you're probably not gonna get adequate cooling from just a single speed fan, or if you do it'll probably use too much energy to make it worth it. The number of fans doesnt matter (the taurus is only 1 fan). Its the number of speeds and the cfm those speeds flow that makes the difference

The known taurus fan is from the 94/95 3.8L's. The 97mustang GT fan may work as well, but not the 96 or 98. Only the 97.
The intrepid fan, no way... A good measure of how much CFM a fan will pull is based on the current draw. Taurus fans spike at over 100amps and settle to ~40amps. if you find ANY fan that has comparable numbers, then that's what you go with.
Also, the Mrk VII fan will provide proper cooling as well.
As AF said, you need a 2speed fan or a very high ouput single speed fan on a variable controller.

I got the taurus fan. Cost me $15 I'm hoping to get it put on this weekend.

THANKS for the clarification!
