Shift into LOW and everything shuts down
I've got a 2002 RAM 1500 4X4 and was going to check tranny fluid yesterday. I followed instructions in Manual and warmed thing up and then went to shift slowly thru the gears.
When I shifted into LOW the engine quit, all gauges went to OFF position and the NEUTRAL light on 4wd switch came on.
The dealer did the Gear shift recall while back--is it possible he misplaced a wire and I'm shorting the thing out?
Anybody taken the steering column cover off and/or have some diagrams?
Would prefer to check myself before I take it to dealer--kind of "stressed" financially at the moment--ie BROKE.

I don't remember the number or exact name of recall but it had to with the Shift Lever--and is several year old apparently. I got a notice from the dealer last month so I took it in--now I have the problem with the LOW shutdown
