Default Aw crap. Heater/AC Blend Doors.

Ok I'll try to make this as short and sweet as possible. 2006 1500 and i know i have a problem with the blend door(s) that change the vents my heater/AC blow out of. If i set my **** to the dash vents, it blows from the dash vents. if i set it to my defrost vents, it blows from the defrost vents. But if i set it to the floor, it blows out of the defrost vents. Basically no matter what position, i can't get any air outta the floor vents.

I have read a few other posts on other sites and have gotten a few different causes (at least in reference to which of the 3, i believe, blend doors might be the cause). I have also heard that this is a common problem for newer vehicles with mainly plastic made blend door motors (and even more common for the 02-08 Rams' blend door design).

Anyone able to point me to the right direction as to which blend door(s) could be to blame? Two of them shouldn't be a problem getting to (minus having to tear the dash apart) however i've read that the third, somewhere closer to the drivers side, is near impossible to access without cutting out a welded in piece of stamped metal bracing. If it IS that one maybe someone out there has a trick or something to gain access to that blend door. ???

First Ram was 1998, bought with 68,000 miles, sold 5 years later with near 190,000. Great truck. No major issues. This one, 2006, bought with 46,000, has 56,000 and change 6 months later. Already replacing a DR side hub assembly, possibly tie-rod end, and now this. Come on Dodge (Chrysler) don't let me down. I still have faith.
