Default I have found a fix on the flashing HID headlights on my 2006 RAM

My HIDs used to work fine up until i cranked it. Any time it was being crunk or was running the Computer would throw a code and would cause my HIDs to flash on,off,on,off,on, then off again. I have found out a simple way to keep this from happening. This may be kind of "rigging" it but it worked and it was all i had in my shop and i had to do it or i couldnt have drove that night. I will later find a plug and wires so it wont be so tacky with bulbs just chilling in my headlight plug, but this is how i did it. I took 2 198 bulbs. The same bulbs that are used for your tag lights and i bent the metal ends down and stuck one bulb end in the ground terminal on the headlight plug. then i put the other on the low beam terminal. then i took another 198 bulb and bent the metal end down and put one down in the ground with the other bulb and then put the other end on the high beam terminal and then i stuck window rope which is a soft rubber sticky stuff that is used on glass in automobiles then i taped it up. It seems all you need is 12 volts to be pulled from just 1 headlight plug on both high and low beam to keep the computer from throwing a light out code.

That's cool you found out a homemade remidy real fast to get home. For a more permanent fix, this is a pic of what weed did to his truck to get the lamp out indicator to go away. It also tricks the computer into thinking that there is a draw with headlights there. Very nice though man, your trick may help someone else out too.

just do a search on the 3rd gen threads and pull up something like HID, lamp out indicator and it should pull up quite a few threads where he put up a buy list and detailed instructions.

I may be mistaken.....

But the OP needs the relay kit, his truck being an 06. IIRC Weeds setup there works for the 05-under models. Whats the difference? Im not too sure why things changed in 06, but this is just what I think I remember, haha. BUT, we still need some kind of resistor/cap to keep the flickering from happening (with certain kits anways).

Either way, like Weed said, thats some helluva ingenuity right there partner. Bet you felt like freakin Mcgiver (sp) when you rigged all that up
