So now that curiousity has me. Can I swap in one of the newer 4.7l motors in for my older less powerful one with no real issues?

 

Id say if your going to swap motors to put a hemi in there!! Id see no problem in swapping a newer 4.7 though, they should all be pretty much the same?? But dont take my word for it, the newest truck ive ever swapped a motor on was an 88 lol.
