Exclamation H/U installation issues in 06-08 dodge ram

I have a pioneer p-510 head unit for my truck and I have the stock radio with the four speaker system. I have the installation kit and wiring harness and everything needed to install but there is clearance issues with the H/U in the kit and dash, Ive also tried an alpine 7" flip out dvd player and it appears to have the same problem, just wondering if anyones installed an aftermarket H/U in their 06-08 ram and had the same problems and how you fixed it? It appears that the stock radio width is smaller than most head units out there
thanks for the help

The issue is clearance on the sides, neither one of the receivers would fit in the dash kit, idk maybe theres some sort of modification that needs to be done to the dash and or the kit, maybe the stock dodge radio is smaller in width compared to single din head units?

negative, I installed mine, used a normal dash kit, no cutting or bending. Here are some pics of the sides/front. It takes too long to take it out, but I need some pics of yours to see what the problem isName: 1267210774.jpg
