Default More light problems

Hey guys, I'm back again with another light question.

After a lovey full day of classes and work, I got pulled over while entering my subdivision. Turns out that both of my license plate bulbs are out.

I'm working all day tomorrow so I'm sure I'll get pulled over tomorrow night, so I'm just curious if any of you have had this problem? Is it normal for both of them to go at the same time? I didn't get any lamp out warnings on my dash. AFAIK, all other lights are working, minus my 3rd brake light which I haven't had time to get new bulbs for yet.

If indeed they are just bad bulbs and nothing more, I'm considering spending a few extra bucks and put in some LED's. Are they just plug in play? I'm not very good at wiring, so if its not plug and play, would an extreme novice be able to do it?

Its possible they both went out at the same time or within a short time of one another and you never noticed it. All you can do it turn on your lights and use a meter to check for voltage or try replacing the bulbs to check for voltage.

I dont think they can give you a ticket back to back like that can they? Dont they have to give you time to get it fixed?

Yeah, I didn't get any "lamp out" warnings either when mine popped.
The LED's are plug and play.....very easy to install.
Don't know about your laws and stuff as I'm a UK citizen, so can't help
Al.

Im sure the Lamp Out only works for the headlights and tail lights and not anything else. Most people wouldn't notice tag lights being out because they are driving at night ant not walking around the truck doing a visual inspection even though we all are supposed to.

Yeah I didn't get a ticket, not even a verbal warning really. He just said to try and get them replaced asap because there's other officers that do ticket for it. Im sure he just wanted to see inside my truck to make sure I was drunk/high/etc. He was pretty cool about it, however I was more annoyed than anything.

Thanks for all the help guys! Do anyone where to buy the LED's?

thanks a ton silver! i ordered a pair of those guys yesterday so ill let you know how it goes! by chance do you have a picture of how they look at night?

also, a side question that someone may have experience with. The plastic that the light shines though in the bumper is pretty weathered and yellow. Does anyone have experience replacing it? I was thinking of maybe just finding some sort of opaque plastic and cut it to size, but I'm up for any ideas. Also, is it a pain to even get the housing itself out to replace the plastic?

If you redo the cab lights i believe you need to add some resistors
