Anyone ever put a shift kit in there truck? If so how is is?

 

i put the transgo HD2 kit in my tranny. it was great up until my tranny exploded. i dont know if it was related to the shift kit or not. another alternative to a shift kit would be like a sharadon valve body.

 

the sell a tuner for like 98 bucks i think on summit that goes imbeween the tranny n the ecu and intercepts and reinterprets? does the same thing as a tuner as they say...

 

I put in the HD2 kit also and it firmed up the shifts a bit but I have the 03. Installed it when I did the Trans oil change. You basically remove the valve body and follow the instructions. If you do it yourself Be careful with the electrical harness that needs to be unplugged from it through the housing. If you disconnect the shifter cable to access said plug, make sure the selector arm is where it needs to be (park) and the inside plunger is all the way to the rear before re-assembly of the pan or you will have to drain and take it apart again to move that plunger to where it needs to be (rearward). Good mod vs cost in my opinion and it saves your tranny. Like Oldirty said sharadon valve bodys. I would like to have the stage 3 myself.
