Default 05' Towing Tune-up

New to the forum been lurking awhile. Driving an 05' 1500 w/ hemi, 3.92's

Towed a small boat weighing under 1k lbs last summer.
This summer is shaping up to be over 10k miles with 3k+ behind the girl.

Planning on changing plugs, wires, all fluids and such.
The goal is to improve towing performance/MPG as much as possible.

What plugs/wires have you had good results with, and also what do you guys prefer Amsoil/ royal purp?

Would a programmer be worth the money?

Thanks for the input in advance

Amsoil oil myself

Programmer will boost Tq and help mpg's. Worth it ? yes

Do 5k miles without one, then 5k miles with one.

go with the plain copper champion plugs, hemis like those best. get a programmer like superchips, you can use it to adjust your shift points to optimize towing. 5k should be no problem for a hemi with 3.92's. i hear nothing but good things about both RP and amsoil. you may want to consider an e-fan to get a little better mpg's, and if you're towing in the mountains i would get a tranny temp gauge..

they dont make any difference, but they do clean up the engine bay nicely if you have an aftermarket intake.

I went with the 8.5mm MSD full length wires when I replaced mine. Difference? I dont think so other than my old wires had a bad one or two in them. As far as getting oem replacements, a Wise Man once told me "make a repair a Mod". About the only thing I think I wouldn't upgrade are the plugs. Nothing like the Champion coppers or NGKs for the Hemi.

Thank you guys for the input. The price difference isnt much from OEM to aftermarket, so thats enough said.
Ill throw some champs in it and some new wires along with full the full amsoil treatment.
We will have to talk real nice to the jury and see if i cant get a programmer.
