Yep, you are right on the money 40-50* over outside air temp is considered optimal for a transmission under NO load.

There is a chart of what happens to transmissions at verious temps in the FAQ, although not helpful for YOUR purpose, good info...

THX for the pics. Switched 12v can come from the cig lighter or several ignition wires under the steering wheel

No problem on the pics. I will dig around and see how easy it is to find the cig. lighter power wire. Thanks
