If that is the muffler than what is this? Maybe this is the resonator?

 

More than likely, usually the muffler is further upstream and the resonator closer to the tip. I don't know how they label them with more than that, a buddy's XJ6 back in the day had 4 of the damn things, no wonder it was so quiet!

 

Yes sir. That is your resonator.

 

Personally I would think the tip off is the 3" steel pipe running into the front of it, and coming out the rear...

Muffler...

 

The funny part (well, it's actually sad) is that the 3.8L v6 Town and Country minivan is louder than my Ram. The exhaust (yes, that behemoth) is still in good shape too.

I really need to install that cutout.

Guess you didn't see the previous pic where he had his big @ss muffler in the pic. That is his resonator.
