Default Keep the stock resonator or not?

1st post, but an easy question, advise really. I am ordering an Aero 3030 for a little more sound on a 2007 with the 5.7. I am not sure whether I should leave the stock res on there or not and if I do is there any reason I can't weld up a 12in chrome magnaflow tip in place of the stock tip?

Thanks for the welcome. I'll keep the stock res on and see how it sounds. Hopefully I will not regret not getting the 3030xl. I see Aeroturbine also sell a res, anyone have any experience with those? Traded a GMC for this truck and am loving it so far. Read through a ton of posts on here before ordering the 3030 so thanks for the help.

edit: johnsn10 how loud is it in the cabin at cruising speed, say 60-70mph?

i have the at3030 non resonated version. i get a tiny bit of drone if cruising at 1500-1600 rpms. still isnt very bad at all though. but i try not to cruise at those rpms. the cab noise isnt bad at all. i actually never realized how loud my exhaust was till i took it to get a smog check, and was watching the guy run it on the dyno for that. blew me away.

you can either take the resonator off, and if its too loud, or drones too much (i highly doubt that will be the case though) weld it back in. or leave it on, and if you want more sound later, cut it out. gotta keep in mind though, the 3030xl version is resonated already.

So you are using the 3030 with no resonator? I seen a member on here using the 3030xl and still used the stock res but I think I can stand for a little more sound than that. I have the 5.7 in a 300c but have kept it quiet for family trips. I was surprised that at stock this truck is even quieter than the 300c at stock. This won't do at all.

lose it if you want a aftermarket sound. If you want it quiet and stockish then keep it, but to me why spend money on a muffler if you dont want to hear it a little.

I have the 3030XL on my 2006 5.7 Hemi and I left the resonater on. Here is a link to some vid clips of mine if you want to hear it. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...-at3030xl.html

I would say definately leave it on. If it's not loud enough then you can always take it off later. Won't be quite as easy to put it back on if it is too loud. As for your second question, should be no problem putting the tip on there.

My resonator was the first to go when I did my exh the first time. No complaints here
