Default P2311 Ignition Coil D Sec Circ

Computer was nice enough to send me this message yesterday. I've got an appointment to get truck looked at later today, and was curious what to expect cost wise for repairs. If it is a plug or a coil wire, should they all be replaced at this time. I was told if its from the PCM its covered under 8/80 powertrain. I'm at 81K miles. Am I totally screwed on the powertrain. Any help is appreciated.

If that is the original wire set, you need to replace them, should have been done at 60k. There is NO WAY wires are gonna be covered under warranty anyway, normal wear item...

I remember I was getting those on my 1-3-5 cyl when I did my 6.1 conversion and I checked over everything good. When I did my cam and had to pull everything off again, I swapped them with my 2-4-6 cyl and it went away. I just think they werent seated good on the plugs.

not only was it the original wire set, but they were the original plugs. Plugs got so hot on umber four, it melted the insulation in the coil. From there it got worse. Coil sent a rather large shot of voltage to the PCM. After replacing everything, and reseting the codes, the computer was still throwing the same code. starting to think about an aftermarket warranty.
