Default Replacement muffler

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum...well I've been reading reviews for some time, but only now have registered.

I have an '07 1500 and I'd like to get a bit better sound without digging too deep in my pockets. I'm looking at a flowmaster 50 series HD muffler.

Does anyone know off hand the in/out size and offset? Is it hard to replace the muffler?

Also, I'm looking and a Jet Performance Stage 1 module..any reviews would be appreciated.

I just put a duel system on my 08 with a flowmaster 40. It sounds great. I picked it up on ebay from madhatter for $206. Took me about 2 hours to take old muffler and install new one.

look into the Cherry Bomb Vortex, Got mine on amazon, right at 50 dollars shipped! then 35 dollars for a shop to weld it on! Sounds GREAT flows better than the flowmaster, so better performance and better sound for less money???

i have a flowmaster 40 and its pretty loud with a good sound. But from what ive seen the cherry bombs flow much better and have a great sound. if ur interested in them the extreme is probably the loudest muffler you can buy but if u dont want it so loud go with the fortex they both flow great

I just bought on Monday the MBRP Catback system originally $360 and I got 10% off for a total of $324 with free shipping and today I got an email that they are offering 15% off on call in orders and for the 07' its originally $380 so it would be $323. Ive heard its sounds great and you cant beat the price.

Couple of things to note though..first off, it's a lease, so I don't want anything too involved. Secondly, I use the truck for work and don't want anything crazy loud, I'm more interested in the note and some increase in loudness. Also, I live in canada so it's difficult to order from stores online, ebay always works though.

If you don't want to do too much to it and just looking for a little louder sound then try just removing the resinators on it, you can get mufflers in all different size inlet and outlet but if you looking just to cut the old one off and replace it i'm pretty sure the stock size is 3" in and out, i'm sure there are muffler shops somewhere around you that can cut it out and weld the new one in place
