high idle

Default high idle

I have a 08 dodge ram 1500 with the hemi.every time i start the truck the engine revs to about 1300 or 1400 rpms and than idles down as it would if it was cold but it does it all the time running temp or cold does any one know is this normal.my sons 05 ram with the hemi does not do this

My truck does the same thing on start up it idles at 1300-1400 then slowly crawls down to 500-600. I don't think its anything to worry about.

It shoots gas into the cylinders till it fires over. Once it knows it is running it adjusts the idle. Nothing to worry about.
