What Interface to Upgrade Infinity System
I was going to post this in the Audio section but I have seen a lot of your systems so I hoped you could help me out. I have an 07 QC with the 6 disc and infinity system. I plan on upgrading with my pioneer DER-P6000UB. All the interfaces I have been looking at aren't super clear on the differences. I plan on adding an a 4 or 5 channel amp to run my door speakers and the 5th channel or another amp to run a sub. Do I need to just buy the bypass harness or get the interface that does not retrain OEM amp. Which is the best one for my application. I have read some sound like crap and others are great. Also will replace the speaker too. I have searched up and down about upgrading the infinity system and am even more confused than when I started. I mostly find installs with 03-05 Infinity systems and I believe that they are totally different. Thank you guys as always for your insight to my problem.
The device you are referring to such as a JL Clean Sweep or a Rockford REQ are used for Factory radios to clean up and restote the crappy signals. If you are using an aftermarket radio you not need any of those. As far as the wires for the speakers, they all go through the infinity amps, so if you use aaftermaket amps, you will have to catch the speaker wire outputs after the amps I would imageine. No other way really. You can get them inside the kickpanels. Power for the deck I made myself using the pink/yel wire off the lights socket. grounded to the back tube/frame.

I have seen the clean sweep and other signal processors and I would use one if I were to keep the OEM CD like you said. I should have been specific,my fault,I meant the Metra Axxess XSVI-6502-SWC is one of them and PAC has one that crutchfield offers. Metra has one for keeping the OEM Amp that is CHTO-01 but I have heard these are not great. They tie in to the wiring to keep the radio on after the truck is off and can intergrate the steering wheel controls. A light bulb went off in my head they are called intergration harnesses sorry about that. I cant find the 6502-swc anywhere if I google it. Thanks for your help
if your intention is to maintain the OEM unit, a re-eq device like the clean-sweep is an excellent choice, it applies active equalization to the output to flatten (smooth) out any acoustic anomalies that are present with the dynamic eq provided by the deck, the interior acoustics and the speakers. It's still a silk-purse from a sow's ear kinda thing compared to a good head unit, but since it is challenging to integrate a new had unit into the stock dash/bezel - this is a suitable alternative.
