yea i heard the titans where based off the 1500's also.
to the OP, sounds like you kinda have a lemon truck, have you looked into it? it also sounds like your being alittle too picky with your trucks here. somethings got to give, im sure we all wish we could change something about our trucks but some things youve just go to deal with. maybe try and special order a truck.

The reason the "Foreign" Trucks are based on American made trucks is because they have to built here. Every Toyota Tundra is built in the US... and so on. This is because there is a 25% tax on foreign trucks. It was put in place to protect the US truck market some time ago when foreign cars first started appearing in the states.
Did a quick search and could only find this to prove it.
"Apparently there exists a 25% import tariff on “motor vehicles for the transport of goods.""

Look at the Toyota Tacoma also. Might have enough room for you and easier to find in stick

The tax was placed on finished vehicles. For a while (until they could get the US plants built), Toyota shipped their pickups completely finished except for the beds. The beds were shipped separately as parts in order to bypass the tax. Parts were not taxed, only finished product.
This, of course, was to protect the US manufacturers as they continued to foist sub-standard crap on the US consumer.

go with a 2010 HD 6.7 cummins. theyre extremely nice and ive considered trading mine in on one. theres a killer white one at my local dealer, mega cab and everything but its an auto...they want 53,000 and said they could get it down to 47,000. one hell of a truck, but dont think mines going anywhere that soon lol. im not sure what trans is behind the 6.7, but i know its a lot better trans than the 48RE. and its a 6 speed as well, although a manual would be nice. but i tell ya what, you could swap in a manual with a clutch for a lot cheaper than a fully built auto. the 2010s are extremely nice and im not so weary about the 6.7 anymore. if you want a beautiful truck go with the dodge my friend. you wont regret it. ford is making one ugly truck for 2011, and chevy is ditching the allison for god knows what reason....im not sure when thats happening exactly...i was told soon?

I do like the titan, but thier way to pricey when compared to a ram 1500
I'm gonning to look long and hard for a 3rd gen Ram quad cab with the 5.9 and a manual transmisson, if I can't find one, I will drive my 06 till it drops.
My 06 was trouble free up untill december 09, just finding it odd that the less I drive my truck, more goes wrong with it.
