Post will a srt trany fit and work

I have a 96 1500 4X4 and i want to see if any one would know if a SRT transmision would work in it and if so what year and what would have to be done to put it in.

Seems like a question better asked in the second gen section. I doubt it would fit as that's a completely different lineup of motors

Automatic (48rfe) or Manual (T56) if the manual is what you desire look elsewhere the t56 is really not meant to be behind something either powerful or heavy. The SRT 10 can only tow/haul 500lbs due to the trans. Add boost to the SRT the transmission sucks big dick. There are better transmissions out there for a truck ie nv4500 or something.
