2008 Ram (Hemi) Diablosport Tune Suggestions?
I recently got a u7137 Predator for Christmas (my wife and I have been married just 10 months and she's already picked up on the kinds of gifts to get me
). I've got a 2008 Dodge Ram with a Hemi, K&N CAI, and my single 3" exhaust comes to a 1 to 2 dual 2 1/2" magnaflow muffler.
I have to confess that I'm pretty new to programming, tuning, etc. Most of my limited knowledge focuses on a different era of performance (I have a 76 Trans Am).
When I first got my tuner I was a bit overwhelmed. There are so many options and things to adjust that I don't know where to start. Furthermore, I don't know what half of the acronyms stand for and I don't know what each individual paramater is responsible for. The obvious stuff such as idle speed, spark advance, fuel mixture, etc. isn't so bad. The rest of it kinda leaves my head spinning.
I downloaded an application onto my blackberry that is pretty good at using the phone's built in accelerometer to measure the g-forces exerted upon it to produce pretty accurate 0-100 mph times (in 10 mph increments), 1/4 mile times, etc (DynoStorm is the app). Thus, I've got the ability to at least have a base line when it comes to accurately testing if certain tunes are making any difference. So, I've got the measuring tool.
Now what I need is - where do I start? I've appreciated the gains I've felt (and seen some) in the present tunes - 87, 91, 93. I'd like to venture out more though and log the results. I live in the country and there's a back road about a mile from my place that has a speed limit of 55. Thus, I can get some good 5-60 times (0-60 is a waste of time because any extra power gained is wasted when tires just burn more) without getting in too much trouble.
Any of you guys run different tunes and get some good results? Advance the spark...go more lean or rich...etc.? The changes I want to make are ones that wouldn't hurt the truck. AKA, changing shift points might work but I'm not too radical when it comes to pushing the engine to a point where I'm taking TOO much life out of it. It is my baby and I don't want her hurt
Let me know
Thanks!

Diablo has thier own forums which may also help you out. Being you have an 08 already helps you.
But those acronyms can be a PITA and I dont think thier manual tells you what most of them are. But you can post those Qs on thier site so thier mods can answer them for you.
