will 37's rub or not
I was wondering about 37 inch tires fitting on my truck. I have a 2005 ram 1500 5.7 and I just purchased a fabtech 6 inch lift and 37x12.50 tires and I'm not sure if they are going to rub. I still have time before they are installed to switch to 35's so if anyone can help or has similar truck I would like to know how it worked out for you. Also with adding this size tire should I change anything else on the truck like gears or anyother mechanical parts.
they wont rub, depending on ur rims.... u running stock rims because if i recal u need a rim with a 4.5 backspacing so it wont rub..... my buddy had an 02 ram with a 3 inch body with 37s lol but again it was an 02, but height wise, 37s i think will look the best with a 6" lift
yea def. those size tires will bog ur tuck down without a lil help, and only expect 7-9 miles per gallon cuz thats what my bud got with his 37s and he had the hemi with all the extra goodies
I have that same lift on my 04' Ram and there really isnt going to be very much room with 37"s without some trimming and especially with any articulation so it would probably have to be a pavement queen, because even when i got my 35"s they rubbed a bunch when i first got them when I was at full crank but those were some knobby m/t tires.
I'm got some Helo 18x9 rims with 4.5 back space and I'm going with the super swaper vortrac tire. I don't do alot of mudding just wanted a good looking truck. Does that rim stick the tires out far enough to prevent the rub?

I'm not wanting to do any trimming. Were did your rub with 35's and what would I need to trim?

DO NOT RUN 37" TIRES ON A FABTECH TORSION BAR 1500 LIFT KIT!!!
It is the bargain basement of suspension lift kits and significantly increases the angle of the CV axles. Many cases of complete CV failures even with 35" tires. We have one member here who is I think on his third CV shaft on one side. A lot more members on some of my hunting/fishing forums where people tend to use their trucks as trucks have reported failed CV axles in every brand of truck where a Fabtech lift was used.
Might be one reason Fabtech is in bankruptcy.

I was running 37x13.5r20 Mud Grapps and had to trim metal and remold the plastic on my wheel well to stop the rubbing. I got 13-16 Mpg depending on city or hwy and how heavy my foot was.
