High Intensity Discharge. Those lights look good! I have 8000k and my friend was parked next to me with 10000k and its actually a big difference in the color. looks sick either way IMO!

temperature of the color can vary drastically from one manufacturer to the next as well. For instance, you could get one manufacturer that sells a 10k bulb that is comparable to another guys 8k bulb...etc
Just a little food for thought on variances in the color.
