Installing shocks...need help

Would also loke to know when i install the new shock to i install the bottom bolt 1st? Just not sure and this reinstall, like i said there is no hex thing ontop of the Bilstein shocks.

Have the new ffront one in but them 3 bolts that hold the shock tower in and are supposed to be self grabbing arnt grabbing they just keep spinning? Any suggestions!?

Well fixed that problem with some vice-grips. Now the bottom bolt on the passenger side just keeps spinning. I recommend paying someone to do this job. Too many headaches!

installing the correct shock is the easiest job on a truck besides oil.

you just had a bad day.

That welded nut on the back side broke the weld before the bolt broke loose. i even got a socket in and around the back side and shoved a extension thru the hole and used sockets on both sides but that little bit of weld left would only let my socket get 70% of the way on it and now its stripped. Im stuck and dont know what to do. The last shock too. Everything else is apart on that side except that bottom bolt.

they should have had a key nut , not a weld . they must have patched it . mine all have key nuts to hold the nut in place while you put the bolt on.

maybe thats what it is the bolt is mounted to a little clip thing that slides down in on the back side. anyways that back bolt just turns and turns

Bust out the torch and go to the hardware store and get a new nut and bolt. I didnt realize that swapping shocks could be that much of an adventure.

that plate the bolt is attached to has cracked alowing the back nut to turn with the bolt

everything went smoth thill this last shock and i dont have a torch
