My Grandpa had a 67 GTO that he bought new,and he used to get so mad because mt Grandma could run a better time with it at the drag strip, lol.

I had a 93 shadow with a 3.0 and a 5spd that would cook my brothers nicely modded 5.9 cummins. never took it to the track, but would do 0-60 in just over 6 seconds with 225,000 mi. on it. Sold it to him, and he totaled it 2 months later. was the best/ cheapest car I ever had. Got it free and stuck $400 into it over 2 yrs. mostly in tires.

I love the predictions that the Laser had no chance from a stop. It just shows who hasn't driven an AWD car.
With an experienced driver in a bone stock Laser the truck wouldn't even be in the same zip code as soon as the run started. If your Laser isn't totally leaving your truck it may be time for a tuneup and some cheap mods. You're really missing out on what that platform has to offer. At a minimum you should run mid-high 13s with a boost controller and a downpipe. I've owned over a half dozen DSMs, all but one a first gen, to include a Galant VR4 and a Mirage turbo.
BTW, that's an extremely rare car these days. All the 1st gen DSMs are getting hard to find but a Laser turbo is damn near extinct.
