Default In dash 08 ram

Howdy yall, I recently purchased a 2008 Ram 1500, and I'm wanting to put in my avic f90. Unfortunately right now I'm in Florida and the truck is in Alaska. So I'm wondering what all do I need to do it? Is it as simple as a dash kit and wiring harness or will I need something else?

All help is appreciated thanks.

first thing is...does it have a center console? If so theres more work to it. You have to remove a whole bunch of panels and bezels.

Anyways the decks are held in with 4 screws, you gain access to them by removing those panels. It just pulls out then. You may need a dash kit, all depends on what kind of mounting brackets the deck comes with. Sometimes you can get away with the factory mount

If you want things to look really good, you will probably need a new bezel, just because of the way the stock deck is built. IE. With the two ***** offset to the side. I Installed one on my old truck and it fit but it still had those semi-circle holes on the side.

I would get yourself a harness, you could get back there and splice every wire, but with the harness it allows for nothing to go wrong. Also if you ever need to put the factory deck back in that factory plug will still be there!

Does anyone in here know what kind of wiring harness I would need? I'm getting mixed answers on sites such as Crutchfield and Sonicelectronix. This is by no means my first stereo instal but **** was a lot easier to find with my Chevy, although I'm much happier with my Dodge.

Thanks for any help.
