You should still run him to see how big the gap actually is between the two trucks.

Yes, I definitely will do that. The only reason my brother even bought the Diablo was to deactivate that atrocious MDS. MDS is one of the worst designs I have ever seen on a pickup truck. It'd be cool if the driver could turn it on or off at their disposle, but to force drivers to HAVE to use it is rediculous. You'll be driving around town in v8 mode then all of a sudden you feel the entire truck get its soul sucked out of it and drop in 4 cylinder mode as your just trying to troll around town. Very nice that he was able to get rid of that b/s.

I had the opportunity to drive a 2010 the other day and I have to say I was impressed. The ride was a little softer than my 05, but when getting on it from a dead stop the '10 hooks up so much better than my '05. I also thought the interior was outstanding in the '10. I did not have a chance to haul anything in the '10 or tow with it, so I cannot say how good the truck is as a truck.

Yes, as I referred to earlier, the transmissions utilize the power of the hemi motor better than the 3rd generations. Like any "new" truck they will always seem a lot flashier and fancier than the previous generation models, but once my brother's 2010 is 5 years old as my truck is today, I don't think it will be as valuable. I can't sit here today and say I will buy a 4th generation ram when I go to buy a new truck 2-3 years from now. That decision will be indicative upon how well my brother's Ram holds up the new few years after all that newness has worn off.

The 09's and 10's are not that fast. Teach your truck would beat one, my truck will take one and has taken one on a few occations.

yea I personally like the looks of the 06-08 ram more....but the interior of the new ram is nicer, more cool accessories etc. Its more powerful and faster while getting the same gas mileage. And I thought the ride was a ton better. So all in all, I think its a good truck. They do look low to the ground, even the 4x4s, but with a lift they look badass

Uh the 4th gens have the SAME trans as the third gen with the SAME drive train loss so it does not utilize the power any better. Its just that instead of a 345hp truck putting to the ground 250rwhp its a 390hp truck puttingto the ground 305-310rwhp.

not to pick on you, but if the 3rd gen is putting down 250rwhp, that means a 28% drivetrain loss. If the 4th gen has the same drivetrain (which it does), the 28% loss would mean 280 rwhp.

A good way to compare the 3rd generation ram to 4th generation ram power wise is comparing my 345 h/p Ram to my friend's 2006 F-150 with 300 h/p. Last year when I raced him, I beat him by over a truck length with nothing done while he had a volant cai, hypertech programmer, and flowmaster catback exhaust. The new rams have more horsepower than the 3rd generation Ram than the 3rd gen. ram has over the 300 h/p f-150s; which was a big difference when I raced him.
