My truck is going crazy!!!!
I need big help! A few weeks ago, my 2006 RAM 1500, 5.7 Hemi was losing power and started to run a bit rough. My check engine light came on and I pulled code P3497.
I had the code cleared and was running the truck today. I parked, and when I came back out and started the truck, it was running terrible. There was a lightning bolt flashing on the dash, the gas pedal would not respond and the check engine light came back on.
I turned it off and let it sit for about 20 mins. I turned the key on and after a minute or so, I started the truck up. This time, there was no flashing lightning bolt, truck was running fine, but, the check engine light remained on. I drove to my local guy and we pulled the following codes:
P0340
P0129
P2127
P0652
Interestingly enough, the P3497 code was not pulled. I am at a loss as to what is going on twith the truck. I ordered a Superchip tuner, thinking I could use it to override the MDS system, which should have taken care of the P3497 code. I have not gotten it yet and with what happened today, I am not sure what might be going on.
Help!!!!

I know what the codes say. I have made no mods, it is time for an oil change, the truck has 78,000 miles on it. My question is what would cause these different codes to show up, then disappear? Why would the MDS code dissappear and these others show up instead?
Could it mean the computer is bad? Is there another electronic part that could be going bad?
I did not mention but if I hit a bump in the road, sometimes the truck will completely shut down. If I am driving, I have to put it in neutral and then start it back up. It has not happened recently but it has happened.

really sounds too me it's time for some preventive maintanence /not a code reading seminar. It is still amotor and they have been here a little longer than the mds. .Dude those codes are probably telling you that it's time too change every filter in the truck the fact that they go off every now and then doesn't meanShlt! the fact that they are on does p.m. that thing and feed us pix of your work for future newbies thanks for being here good luck and nice too help you (if I did at all) and welcome to df.
