Default 2006 Front end shutter problem

Hi, I am looking for some advice on a front end problem I have. The truck is a megacab, so I have the straight front axle instead of the IFS setup. The problem is a shutter and vibration when turning at low speeds. I can feel it in the steering wheel when I return the wheel to the center position. It can be felt in the truck also. It's the same feeling you get in 4WD when turning sharp. The truck is NOT in 4WD(I know it would have been the first response)! Power steering fluid is good and front end and truck is working fine other than this issue. I did a search and came up with all high speed issues, nothing at very low speeds. Thanks for any help!

Question Meeee toooo......

I am interested as well, as I have the same exact problem, add for LOOSE steering, and I'm at a loss. I replaced 1 of the wheel bearings, upper/lower ball joints, and inner/outter tie rods less than 5k miles ago, and it JUST passed inspection last month. (had the loose steering for a few months, the shutter is new.)

Any help for josh or myself would be appreciated!

The only thing I have hear is the "Crash Box" (??????) in the steering column may have gone bad, causing these problems, again ANY help would be GREAT!

the transfer case could be struck in 4x4 and the light would be off try popping it in and out of 4x4 a few times driving foward and back at least 20 ft each time

It is NOT the transfer case...it is DEFINATELY somethign in the Front End suspension/steering....NOT the drive-train.

C'Mon people, I've read all sorts of front end problems on the DODGE's, why NO IDEAS?????

i had the same problem with my old jeep and i did what he said ^^^ and it popped it out, but then again it easy to tell if its in 4x4 because acceleration changes in 4x4, easy for me anyways, but maybe just take it to a shop and let them check it out, dont have to go to the dodge place... but thats prob. ur best bet, sry dude i dont have much info on this

Do the front diffs in the Megacabs have limited slip? I would try adding a bottle of friction modifier to see if that alleviates the problem because that's what it sounds like to me. I believe Chrysler does NOT add any modifier in the front diffs for those that do have it. It's easy enough to try and see if it works.
