Default 4.56 Gears for Ram 2500??

I'm new to performance mods for trucks so would appreciate good advice on this.

Thinking about a new Ram 2500 4WD. I've been reading threads on various forums about changing gears to 4.56 but haven't had much luck sourcing the gear sets or info on the swap.

Can these gears be fitted to the standard 2500 axles w/ anti-spin rear?

Who makes the best gears and where do I buy them?

What is involved in the swap and what type of shop would be best to have it done?

Watson

You can have the ring and pinion changed to the anit-spin that comes in the truck.

The rearend is a 9.25" unit and gears should be available from Richmond or Precision gear. I'm not sure if any of the Dodge Forum site sponsors have gears but, Jegs, Summit Racing, Randy's Ring and Pinion are just a few that can get the gears you need.

Correction, the front is a 9.25"AA axle. The Rear is a 10.5"AA axle.

Both gotta be changed if you do it. Richmond has nice 4.56 for both applications on the 2500, front and rear.

I got a set really reasonable from 4wheelparts.com a few of years ago for my old truck. Even included a lifetime warranty.
