Default Alternator Voltage

I am wanting to adjust the out voltage of my Alt. I know it is regulated by the PCM. Here is the question. Does anyone know which wire the PCM gets the voltage reading from to tell the Alt. to kick in? Or does anyone have a Wiring diagram I can look at to figure it out?

I am running an extremely powerful stereo. With a higher voltage the more efficient my amplifiers will run. With more voltage also comes more wattage from my amps as well. Even though the increase will be slight and probably not noticeable by ear, when competing every little bit counts.

why not just get a higher capacity alternator? you're gonna kill the stock one, and if you have a system worthy of competition you shouldnt be running the stock one anyway

With more voltage will come cooked components.

Ok, I'll bite. What components are you running and can we get some pics. I love stereo installs (especially competition installs)

I am planning on buying a dcpower 260 amp alt. but at this moment I dont have $600 laying around. So I know I am pulling my stock alt dry but I only do it for comps. not everyday driving. Plus I only have a 3 min drive to work so I dont really get a chance to jam on it plus I work in school district so I have to set and example as well....lol. But for now I am just wanting to raise my voltage to as close to 15v as I can get. and by doing that I wont frying components. It will take a lil time to get some pics up here but I will. I have it posted on a couple of other forums as well. www.soundsolutionsaudio.com and www.phoenixphorum.com
