Default bilstein 5100 adjustables

Hey guys,
need a level and decided on these. kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

havent looked too much into suspension on these trucks yet as Ive only had it for a few months. do I need to remove coil to put these on? Or can I just remove tower nut and bottom nuts and out she comes? and in slides the bilsteins?

Also, for those of you with these, what setting did you go with? I need 2" to level, but I got a feeling the 2" setting wiill put me well over that.

Thanks

2 inches is the smallest I think you can go, and if you think that it is too high up in the front then you could just put a 1 inch block in the rear, alot of people do 2 in front 1 in the rear or like I have 2.5 in the front and 1.5 in the rear. I am certain that 2 inches will be perfectly fine on your rig as enough people on here have done it.

I cant help you with the shocks though as I do not have the same setup as you.

i helped a buddy put a set of those on his tacoma. they were really nice. on his we had to take the whole strut out, take the coil spring off of it, put the coil on the 5100s and put em back in. dunno if it will be the same for a dodge though.

yeah I really want to get a set of these too, but I want to know if they are worth it, seems like a decent price for shocks and level

I put on the rancho quiklift, which I believe is basically the same, only not adjustable. Pull out the strut, take coil of shock (coil remover required). Also I had to use one of those sockets with a hole in it, that you can put another socket in to remove the coil from the shock. It was kind of a pain but very do able.
Good luck!

I have been looking into the bilsteins as well and deff going to go that route, yes you do have to take the old spring out of the stock strut and put it in the bilseteins so you will need spring compressors.. I found this a while ago, im pretty sure on here..

ok so i am looking at these shocks as well as mine have gone to absolute $h!t. On the install they say to use the factory coil and picture it on the shock itself but mine looks nothing like that and it says to put it in you have to take the strut a part and what not but when i removed the shock before i just simply jacked it uo and took the tire off and unscrewed the top not and the bottom and it came rite out. is that all i have to do to put this shock on?

heres a pic ignore the stupid spring spacers. but as u see the shock as no contact with the coil
