ok I am new. and i have a big job to do. I want to change out a 4.7 in my 04 to a hemi. I have my girl friend wreck 05 with a hemi and need to know, what would it take to do so?

Welcome to the forum. Up toward the top of the right side of the main page in the 3rd gen section you'll see a tab that says "Search this forum". Click that and type in "hemi swap". You should find adequate info as this has been discussed by many power-seeking 4.7 guys.

If you have more questions after your search, post up.

Thinks. I have read everything and it helped a little but not enough. Do i need to pull the wiring from the fire wall to r just the motor harness . i know the 4.7 is cable throttle and the hemi is wire throttle. and it is in the body harness. Can i just pull the throttle wire out?

I would use the donor truck for the complete swap. Remove the 5.7 and everything associate with it. This will give you an idea how difficult of a task you are undertaking. When everything is laid out on the floor and you are satisfied you can do it. Start on the 4.7 removal. Good luck...

well i would take everything from the donor truck, the whole wiring harness the computer, EVERYTHING if possible.

well I am starting. lucky i am able to use everything under the hood. but the ac fan. i think this is going to take longer than i figured. was hoping a weekend job and a few beers but look's like a few weekends. And a hole **** load of beer for the headache lol. At least i got electric seats. she had a lonestar and mine was plan slt. I miss that hemi . I am ready to hear and feel it again.
