Default Lowering my 2004 Ram 1500

Hi, I want to lower the back of my Ram 1500 4wd. I saw some shackles on ebay. 1.5'' drop. The problem is I saw some posts that says I will not be able to tow that much weight??? Is it true if I do not remove the overload spring. If I leave everything stock except the shaclke, am I going to be able to tow the same as before? Because I am pulling a 7000lbs boat...I installed a Firestone air ride that I use only when pulling the boat, but I dont think it will interfere with the drop kit??

Thanks

If you have the air assist then i wouldn't worry about having issues. You should be fine changing the shackels out. I would leave the overload in tho.

i agree with above statement...but if you do have the air assist you could technically remove the o/l leaf and still be fine cause when you pull your boat all that weight still sits on the bags ...what are the bags rated at for weight? and one more thing moes has mcgaughy's drop shackles for 75 shipped
