Default New paint care advice

A little over a week ago my Leer 100XQ came in and was installed. It's already dirty from the dirt in the air and the dew in the morning. Not to mention the bird poop. The black DuPont paint looks great but the Leer manual and website say to not even wash it for 90 days. I can see not waxing for 90 days but it needs to be washed.

Does anyone have any experience with a new topper/cap or new automotive paint and washing it? I looked around on different websites but they all say something different. I might just try to run some water over it in the shade Saturday morning and see how that works first so I can go as long as possible without touching it with anything.

Thanks in advance.

Ok...so here is what the real deal is.

Paint dries from the outside - in, but cures from the inside-out.
If they bake it, you are fine to wash it the day you get it.
If they don't bake it, I'd wait 24 hours before washing it just to be safe.

Caviat!! it takes paint 6 weeks to cure. DURING that time you want
NO wax materials used on that paint because it will keep the chemicals from flashing
off properly and will cause you major heart ache. So if you want to wash it,
use a wax free wash. DON'T use dish washing liquid because guess how it cuts through that grease? It uses acids.

Also, be very careful of what you use to wash the surface. Cotton is a huge no-no.

I'm not going to recommend anything here for cleaner or cloth, because I've learned that lesson the hard way.
But follow those rules and you will be fine.

my father bought a brand new jeep custom from the factory and picked it up at the dealer the day it was delivered. they told him not to wash it for a certain amount of time due to the paint having to cure, he took it that day and got it muddy.. washed it the next day and 80% of the paint came off !

i had my hood painted and was told not to wax for 90 days, but i washed it about a week afterward with no problems.
