Your truck must feel like a rocket now with that much of a change?
The big difference is getting hooked up. The pegleg just wouldn't let the truck launch. I can take the 200# of ballast out of the bed now. I came very close to using 4:56. But my tires are only 30.4 inches tall and I was advised to go with the 4:10. I think it was a good choice. If I ran tires taller than 31 inch I would diffinitely use the 4:56.
When you change out your gears and do away with the pegleg, do ou still have the traction control option(ESP button)?
My 03 didn't have that option, so I can't answer. It was simply a open differential with a 3:55 gear. My guess is if you retained your differential and just changed the ring and pinion you would retain the feature.
