Exclamation 2004 Dodge 1500 5.7 weird stall

Hello folks,

Just purchased a 2004 Dodge 1500 Hemi about 2 weeks ago. Beautiful truck but a day ago, I'm going around a 30mph left turn, throtttle off, slowing down from about 65 and in the middle of the turn the engine just shutoff as if I had turned off the key. No warning lights, no codes, nothing. I fought the steering but managed not to crash, and it restarted like nothing happened. Ran great ever since.

Bad fuel? Water in the lines? Anyone ever have this happen? Sorry this is my first post but this was scary. I need to trust the truck and never had any other vehicle do this.

The exact thing happened to me twice 3 weeks ago with my 2004 Dodge 1500 Hemi.
Was driving about the same speed throttle off. The only difference being that the CEL
went on and gave me a EGR malfunction code. I replaced it the next day and no problems
the last 1500 miles.

Thanks. I'll start there and replace the egr.

edit: I did just read that sometimes it's not the egr itself but the electrical system controlling the egr. Anyone ever heard of that and if so what gets replaced besides the valve?

Wow, Not a whole lot that can completely kill engine in the middle of a 65mph rev. Maybe a fuel issue? If your tank is low, Sometimes you turn fast enough you can starve the pump and kill your engine. Although thats reaching. EGR would probably have thrown a code.

This was no throttle going around a turn when it died after coming off a 65mph run.

Freaky stuff but I didn't wreck so it's all good.

I got both codes, P0406 EGR Sensor "A" circuit "High"
and P0404 code Exhaust Gas Recirculation "A" Control Circuit Range/Performance.

both the valve and sensor are one piece far as I can tell.
I paid 49 bucks at Autozone. The only place that had them in stock that weekend.
