My code alarm won't go into programming mode?
I never used it before. I found out my 04 ram had a ca-530 code alarm security alarm. So I ordered the remote and followed the program instructions and when I hold the black programming button on the alarm it's supposed to beep but it doesn't. So maybe I have to program the remote tHe trucks way and take it to the dealer? I don't have the original remotes. Is there a fuse under the hood that's for the secuirty alarm? I think the alarm it self works because when I lock the doors I hear a quite beep from the alarm and if I open the door from the inside my horn will honk. So any suggestions? Thanks
I took it to my local car audio shop and they will charge me 60/hr to look at it. So I looked into the wiring of my alarm and it looks like the door adjar input wire is not hooked up. Would someone be able to tell me where the door ajar wire for the truck is? Is it located somewhere under the steering wheEl coulum where I can easily splice into it? I think the alarm has to detect the door open to go into programming mode. So any help is appreicated thanks!
In order to put the alarm in programming mode, i thought you had to depress the button on the antenna first. I remember something like it could take up to 10sec?
Is the antenna what you re describing as the alarm?
It does NOT need factory programming. I do know that I had to have my antenna replaced twice because it went bad. There were issue's but later on corrected. but i have the SRT-9000, not sure if you would have the same antenna part #?

Hmm I'm not sure. My alarm is a code alarm ca-530. It uses a black button to program it. The instructions that came with the remote says I need to have the drivers door open with the ignition to the on posistion and hold the button for 15 secs. And the horn should beep 3 times. But it doesn't do it. The door ajar wire is nut connected so I'm thinking that's why it's not going onto programming mode.
I bet your antenna is bad. Mine would do the same thing when mine went bad. The antenna is what allows your remote control to work. I would check your connections for the antenna. And yes, I remember now, the bypass button is what I pressed for 10sec until 3 horn honks.
Yay lol it was the door ajar wire. I hooked it to the purple wire underneath the drivers kick panel and I held the programming button and the alarm went into programming Mode. I now have my remote programmed but when I hold the start button the horn beeps one and If I hold it longer it beeps again? Everything else works except the remote start? What could this be? Thanks
