I don't know 4.7 engines, but the 180 thermostat and eFan work om my hemi. I would think they would help a 4.7 even more.

It fools the on board computor too think the air coming in is 20 degrees cooler than actual thining the fuel and making the engine run hotter (in the cylinders). ;not very good imo.

Rocket, That's not quite the information I got from reading the manual. Yes it fools the computer into thinking the inlet air is cooler than what it actually is. But it increases the injector pulse width which richen the A/F mixture. Open loop which I believe is the configuration the Power Wire causes ignores the O2 sensors input allowing the engine to run at a richer level than close loop. More fuel, more potential for power.

I have done several mods in the past week and didn't test them individually for performance gains. But overall, the old girl has responded very favorably to the changes. But simply stated if the engine doesn't have to turn the fan over than that hp freed up. IMO, it works and I would buy it again.

The power wire is a 4.7ohm resistor spliced inline with the IAT sensor, it tricks the computer into thinking it is 20deg cooler, and from what ive read, only at wide open throttle does it make a difference. From what people have said, it makes the truck feel peppy like a cool day, but all the time. Lots of guys on here run the wire all the time, and I havent seen any problems with it. Youre not gonna get a huge gain from it, but the extra couple hp for a few bucks isnt bad.

By far best bang for your buck would be a programmer (Superchips) ~$300
Powerwire, I couldnt really tell a difference but sometimes the truck seems more peppy with it ~$5
Cold Air Intake, make your own or buy a cheap ebay one. They dont give you much gains but they do make a lot of noise and make your exhaust sound A LOT better.
Also a very non restictive exhaust is always good (Flowmaster is just as bad/worse than stock) There is a chart of all the exhausts on here somewhere and it shows which ones flow the best and worst. Hope that gets you started.
